Skinning the first mattress

So we’ll probably end up doing most of the work in our back yard- keeping everything outside for sanitary reasons. Though, I think that mini dutch could handle a mattress bunny.

We started out by cutting around the exterior of the mattress. The goal is to save the edge of the mattress with piping to use for "cleanly" finishing the rabbit's side

So once the mattress pad and foam pad came off, we encountered a felt lining. It was so odd to see the springs beneath.

Don't worry- we put the springs back out in the alley. Within 10 minutes scrapers came by and picked them up.
